Hello! I’m Robin.
My first article was published in 1988 when my letter to Santa Claus appeared in the Houston Chronicle. I asked Santa for a pink TV and a hamster.
Did he deliver? Sort of. Santa’s elves must’ve used some wild magic to find that pink TV, but I’m still waiting on the hamster.
Did I think of myself as a professional writer after that? Absolutely.
Since then, my passion for storytelling has led me on an exciting journey. I’ve flown to Shanghai to profile one of China’s most eccentric art collectors, launched (and relaunched) websites, runway-hopped at New York Fashion Week, and created story-driven experiences for brands big and small. As an editor and manager, I’ve defined brand voice, mentored writers, and led messaging strategy. I’ve also had the truly memorable experience of writing and editing a limited-edition book celebrating the 150th anniversary of Levi’s® famed 501® Original.
In my free time, you’ll find me workshopping short stories, chasing my kids, catching a show, or traveling across the world to get lost in new cities.
For a more formal look at my career, here’s my resume.
